WARM TEMPS, COLD BEER – SPRING SKIING IS HERE!
It’s March, and Spring is right around the corner. Days have already started to get longer and warmer, and Mother Nature has graced us with a couple of Spring storms that continue to refresh the slopes. Yet there is nothing quite like a spring day in the mountains. A bluebird sky, warm temps, corn snow, and a deck with views for an apres cocktail make Park City spring season in the mountains one of our favorite times of the year.
TO ENJOY SPRING IN PARK CITY HEAD ON OVER TO THESE LOCATIONS FOR WARM TEMPS AND COLD BEERS:
THE BRIDGE CAFE AND GRILL AT THE TOWN LIFT
When you ski Quittin’ Time, it’s drinking time. This run takes you all the way to Historic Main Street and dead ends at the Brazilian-American Bridge Cafe & Grill. Located next to Park City’s Town Lift, this restaurant boasts a spectacularly sunny patio overlooking the slopes, adjacent to Main’s hustle and bustle. Sip the signature Brazilian Caipirinha, Bridge Mojito, or keep it basic with a Utah craft beer.
HIGH WEST DISTILLERY AT HISTORIC PARK CITY
When the ski lifts stop spinning, you’ll find skis and snowboards lined up outside High West, the world’s first and only ski-in, gastro-distillery. Belly up to the bar for inventive cocktails crafted with Utah-distilled whiskey and vodka. And if you’ve grown tired of Old Fashioneds and Moscow Mules, order originals like the coffee-beet-whiskey-infused Boomtown or the bourbon-gin-matcha-mint-flavored Mordecai. On spring days, ditch the dimly lit, crowded interior and take your drinks fireside on the outdoor, front patio.
RIME RAW BAR AT DEER VALLEY
Located at the top of Deer Valley’s Jordanelle Gondola in a refurbished cabin, RIME’s Oyster Happy Hour makes 2:00-3:00 p.m. prime time. Get oysters on the half-shell for $2.50 and pair them with bubbles, brews, or wine. If oysters aren’t your jam, try the wicked good lobster rolls and chowder, just like they make them back East! Open Thursday-Sundays from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
UMBRELLA BAR AT CANYONS VILLAGE
Catch all the action at Umbrella Bar in Canyon’s Village, which ditches its windows and lowers its canopy come warmer weather. Find the usual suspects of craft and domestic beer on tap or choose a spiked seltzer to keep it bubbly with a buzz.
NO NAME SALOON AT PARK CITY MAIN STREET
This Main Street landmark may have no name, but it’s arguably Park City’s most popular and raucous bar, and the place to hobnob after hours. Here, buffalo burgers take center stage, but bison meat also stars on the hearty nacho plate. Skip imbibing and dining amidst TVs and taxidermy-bedecked walls and climb the stairs to the heated rooftop patio, where Main Street views await.
THE CORNER STORE AT PARK CITY MOUNTAIN
Serving up a local’s favorite après scene at Park City Mountain Resort for over 30 years, the revitalized Corner Store is the best (and family-friendly) place at the base for brews, burgers, and live music. Offering a full bar and a huge, outdoor patio, you can jam to live local tunes and dine on classic American fare.
ST. REGIS DEER VALLEY CHAMPAGNE SABERING
Staying at Deer Valley long past last chair? Take the funicular to the St. Regis Mountain Terrace and toast sundown with a free glass of bubbly. Each winter night when the clock strikes 5:30, a bartender narrates the Napoleonic roots of champagne sabering, strikes one across a sealed bottle, and pours a round for the whole patio. As the night cools, stay cozy under heaters and sip on the hotel’s signature Bloody Mary, a wasabi celery foam-topped concoction you’ll find only at the St. Regis Deer Valley.
APRÈS LOUNGE AT MONTAGE DEER VALLEY
Champagne is the new beer for après-sipping, and you’ll find iconic Veuve Clicquot at the Montage’s Après Lounge. Step inside the bright yellow, slopeside yurt to drink bubbly paired with gourmet bites of caviar, cheese, and charcuterie. Then, kick up your ski boots and lounge on the plush couches, or take it outdoors to recline in Adirondack chairs and take in the Deer Valley views.
